
Welcome to the Tavern, where we follow the august tradition of the original Symposium, fathered by the great Socrates himself. In Persian times, an argument was not considered clinched until its advocate had checkmated his opponents in both of two media: premeditated rationalism, and impassioned intoxiation, so as to carry the victory both on the level of reason, and on the level of passion. Here, we try to foster a happy wedding between the two as a needed curative to the anodyne sentimentality of contemporary discourse.
