Melinda Selmys
Head Writer melinda (AT) vulgatamagazine.org Prior to her conversion to Catholicism Melinda espoused everything from secular feminism, rationalistic atheism, and philosophical materialism, to anti-Christian cant, and the homosexual lifestyle. Having retired as the Secular Left’s hired gun, she is now a practicing Catholic who doubles as mother and housewife and live-in writer of short stories and apologetic articles. She is a confirmed book addict and Keats enthusiast with a robust Socratic dialectic and a sense of humour only she seems to understand. She and Chris also happen to be writing the best fantasy novel ever written. Pray that it gets finished sometime within the next several decades. You can also find articles by Melinda at National Catholic Register |

David Elliot
Chief Apologist davicles (AT) hotmail.com David is a convert to Catholicism from Celtic paganism and Western Occultism soaked in Shakespearean rhetoric and Hindu aesthetics. Having given up the life of esoteric dilettante, he is now finishing his Honours Degree in Christianity and Culture and Philosophy at the University of Toronto. He is a devotee of G.K. Chesterton, C.S. Lewis, and J.R.R. Tolkien, enjoys all (old) things theological and literary, and is adamant that the written word is saved “by splash alone”. He hopes to enter an M.A. Program in Theology somewhere in the U.S. or Europe in the Fall of 2005. |

Neil Patterson
Webmaster Before becoming Catholic from a nominal Anglican background three years ago, Neil was an old-school Marxist and secular humanist activist with Buddhist sympathies and pan-sexual convictions. He is now an orthodox Catholic of decidedly philosophical temper and has his Honours Degree in philosophy from Trent University. He is fond of drinking, Jazz, Leonard Cohen, English waistcoats, and meat untainted by vegetables. He is currently a member of the Madonna House community in Combermere and fulfills his duties as Webmaster entirely via intercessory prayer. Neil would like to point out that this picture is a few years old and that he now sports a beard, meaning he doesn't actually look like a twelve year-old kid as he has been accused of in this picture. |

Jeremy Frim
Columnist jfrim (AT) vulgatamagazine.org Jeremy was baptized this very Easter, having come to the Christian Faith after several years of rather risible “fence-sitting”. A rotund slavophile of Transylvanian extract, he is known for his rumbustious folk-dancing, zest for raw meat products, prowess with languages, delight in accordions, uproarious vodka-drinking, and slips into ecstasy upon the slightest polka induced provocation. His encyclopedic knowledge of maps, cultures, peoples, places, and little local parishes you've never heard of, uniquely qualifies him as writer of the ever-popular St. Jerome's Believe It-Or-Not column. |

Sr. Mary Catherine
Prayer Warrior Formally known as Anne Perdue, Sr. Mary Catherine has supported St. Jerome's Ministry's with her fervent prayers and considerable enthusiasm since its inception. An avid Pro-Life activist and cradle Catholic whose adult faith first began to flower within a “spirit-filled” evangelical milieu, she has since returned to the Catholic faith with a vengeance, recently taking the first of her vows as a Sister of Our Lady Immaculate in Cambridge. She is apt to turn up at Catholic conferences, pro-life rallies and local airports whenever a serious crisis threatens the ministry, and is always willing to help out with hours of adoration, masses, fasts and fierce penances on our behalf. |
